Autism and ADHD

For nearly 20 years Carolyn has been involved in the field of Autism and ADHD, beginning with first-hand family experience of ASD and ADHD, which in turn led to various roles and training around the subjects.

As a psychologist, nurse, teacher, and SENCO, Carolyn has helped train the NHS, CAMHS, STEP2, multi-national companies, teachers, social workers and virtually every professional body you can imagine, to help them greater understand people with Autism and ADHD.

Formerly with the organisation ADD-Vance, as the Training and Development Manager, Carolyn helped coach individuals and families trying to cope with the stresses associated with the day-to-day life of Autism and ADHD.  With years of professional experience in the field, Carolyn knew she was best placed to further help those affected by these conditions using CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

NICE guidelines (the organisation that sets medical best-practices for the NHS) recommend CBT as 'first line treatment' for a wide variety of conditions - including generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic disorder, depression, low self-esteem, OCD, and phobias. Many of these conditions are part of routine life for those with ASD and ADHD. As an accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) - along with Carolyn's unique understanding of Autism and ADHD - her CBT sessions have helped dozens of individuals around the world using video call technology.

If you are a family member, or have Autism / ADHD yourself, and wish to find out more about the one-to-one coaching, group training or CBT therapy Carolyn can offer - please contact Carolyn here.  Coaching and CBT sessions can be conducted either face-to-face at her practice near St Albans (Hertfordshire) or via video call, wherever you are in the world.
